Dewatering Technology for Sludge and Slurries (1)

It is now possible to offer various alternative technologies, designed by leaders in their respective fields, to assist in identifying real solutions to reduce the ever-increasing production of sludge and slurries from differing industrial processes.

This American group, with offices located globally, has its roots in the oil drilling industry has developed different technologies to deal with the real threat to the marine and land-based environments from oil field activities producing huge volumes of liquefied solids. Therefore their solids control and waste management solutions have, overtime, evolved and been adapted for use in other industries.

Within their product line and services you will find:

Thermal Phase Separation (TPS) Technology

TPS is not a dewatering system to be classified in the conventional meaning of dewatering sludge and slurries etc, as its efficiency and cost effectiveness depends on a feedstock of less than 12% oil and very small water contents. The recovery of water from water based slurries is undertaken by chemical enhanced centrifuging as a separate process altogether.

This advanced thermal remediation process technology is highly efficient for reclaiming and minimising waste and preparing solids for disposal. TPS technology has a proven record of superior performance in treating hydrocarbon-contaminated soils, sludge, sediments etc. This is NOT a method of incineration. It is a two-stage phase separation process based on the principle of indirectly heated thermal desorption. TPS processing removes 99% of hydrocarbons from the feedstock, with less than 2% solids in the recovered fluid. TPS technology is proven, commercially viable and suitable for use in most locations around the globe. The Govt. of Canada’s Environmental Technology Verification Programme has certified it. It has also been rigorously tested by Environment Canada’s Demonstration and Evaluation of Site Remediation Technology (DESRT) Programme, which is similar to the US EPA S.I.T.E programme for evaluation of site technologies.

Dewatering Technologies                                                   Solids Control Training and Evaluation

This group has the facilities and expertise to adapt any technology to meet your specific requirements. The evaluation and feasibility of meeting your needs, while reducing your capital and operating costs is their prime consideration. Their research and development background will be of great advantage to your operation, in this climate of increasing environmental legislation for environmental protection and pollution control.

MPCEE has discussed in detail with its American HQ, along with senior European personnel the potential marketplace for their technology, which includes the identification of their technology for the pulp and paper, wastewater and other industrial operations where the increase in sludge and slurries are becoming a major environmental problem.
